Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete: Director's Cut Coming to Theaters

Square Enix has partnered with Fathom Events and Sony Pictures to bring the director's cut of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children to theaters in the United States. This expanded version of the 2005 CG film, titled Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete, is 26 minutes longer than the original and features numerous revised scenes with improved visuals. The film will be shown in U.S. theaters for just two days, premiering ahead of the launch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on February 29. Before the film starts, viewers will have the opportunity to see exclusive introductory content, including a presentation on the history of Final Fantasy VII and its connection to Advent Children. Additionally, gameplay footage of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be shown, along with interviews with Tetsuya Nomura, the creative director of FF7 Remake and director of Advent Children, Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of Rebirth, and Yoshinori Kitase, the producer. Final Fantasy VII Advent Children takes place two years after the events of the original Final Fantasy VII and follows Cloud and his friends as they confront a mysterious illness and new enemies. The film gained popularity for its impressive CG animation and action scenes. It is worth noting that Advent Children may spoil the ending of Final Fantasy VII, so newcomers who started with Remake should be cautious. However, for those who miss the theatrical run, there is an enhanced 4K Blu-ray version of Advent Children Complete available. Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete will be shown in 650 theaters nationwide on February 21 and 22. The February 21 showings will be in English dubbed version, while the February 22 showings will be in English subbed version.
